Good And Evil A Good Man - 1059 Words
In many cases the image and placement of good and evil seem to be fairly easy to identify. Good and evil are viewed differently in many peopleââ¬â¢s eyes. In A Good Man is Hard to Find, good and evil seem to be easy to understand and identify, but once true horror comes into the equation, the characters true values become apparent. Flannery O Connorââ¬â¢s A Good Man is Hard to Find is about a grandmother and her family traveling to their vacation spot in Florida. Along the way the grandmother remembers a house that she used to go to and asks to go there. On the way to the house, the car crashes and a hearse stops, seeming to come to their aid. A man steps out of the car and the grandmother recognizes him at once. This man is an outlaw named The Misfit, who had just escaped from prison. The grandmother begins begging for her life and tries multiple tactics to win his favor, all while her family is being killed one by one. Although there are a handful of characters in this story , it focuses a grandmother and an outlaw named the Misfit. In A Good Man is Hard to Find, Flannery O Connor takes the two main characters, the grandmother and the Misfit, blurs the image of good and evil and gives the wicked grandmother a chance to be saved from The Misfit. The grandmotherââ¬â¢s personality drives this story into motion and does not fit the typical image of a grandmother.
